Posey is very happy that storm is over! These photos are of her the day after, she was being a super cuddle-bug!

First of all, YAY!
We just got our power back today!
What a craaaaazy storm!
75 mph winds and LOTS of damage.
I feel so thankful that the powerful wind spared our house and car!
I am pretty good at roughing it, but I really do appreciate running water,
as well as electricity...
Luckily we have the wood stove and it wasn't too cold
and luckily there was no snow or ice!

I want to take this time also to send my thoughts and prayers out to all of the people in Chile,
as well as Hawaii
and Haiti...
I have no words for these tragedies.
I can only send my most sincere and loving heart energy to them.
...

So now here are a list of things that I am swooning over...

Owl Candlestick

Sparrow Hooks

Owl Book Ends

Small Oil Lamp

Sisal Storage Basket

French Food Cover

Chinoiserie Tea Set

Paisley Teapot

Malabar Pots

Lemonwood Tableware

Little Pantry

Naia Bag

Helix Sandals

Greta Sandals

Lilibon Bathing Suit

All these amazingly beautiful things (that I wish I had) via Plumo
*Swoon*
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
(with power on!)

Shake it like a polaroid picture!

Ok, just found the COOLEST thing!!!
I am probably way behind on this, but I am very proud of myself for this internet find:
POLAROID!
At least, a program that will turn my photos into vintage looking polaroids...
SOOOOO COOL!!!
Here is a random assortment of photos that I have converted,
I love the look of it!

Andy playing his djembe with our friend Katrin.

This is one of my favorite photos... It is a great picture of our friend, Spencer and our shep, Jacob... See the heart on his nose? It is a ittle cut off, but you can still see it.

Veda playing with crabs at the beach, she loves crabs... She searches under the seaweed for them!

Sunset in the white mountains.

This photo is perfectly amazing. It was a foggy day as we drove with some visiting friends up the coast and the swans with their baby were in the marsh with the water lilies.

A friend took this of me (I am a little cut off) at the beach.

This is the Gypsy puppet (without her head, ha ha) dancing with our friend, Cindy from Harry's Hill.

Out in the woods.

I love this new found polaroid option!
I love the effects!
So much fun!

It will all work out...

Oh, it is a perfectly disgusting rainy day...
And I love it!
I have been felting up a storm all day
(with a few computer and food breaks here and there, felting is hard work!)
There are so many things going on right now, it feels.
We have a potential living situation in a neighboring state
and with that a job opportunity...
But these decisions are so difficult to make!
There are so many things that my life requires at this moment,
for myself and Andy,
for our dogs and Posey,
for my art as work...
I am hoping so much that it can all work out!
(especially since this situation would allow us to save money, a lot of money, for the next year)
And I am not always a patient girl.
I like to know what is going on.
I like to be able to figure things out right away.
But alas, that is not always how life works.
So until we have further information,
and further discussions with the good friends offering this to us,
I have to be patient and wait.
I guess it is a good thing...
I can really asses what it is that is absolutely necessary in our lives.
(like making sure the living space is safe and suitable for us and Posey)

Silk and Wool

Ok, one more post for right now,
then I actually have to get some other work done!
HA!
So just a little more about the nuno felting I have been working on...

The first photo is of a pile of different scarves that I have made in the last week.
The other photos are of about 5 or 6 of them individually...
I am actually finding that it is really difficult to photograph these
because there is so much going on,
so much fine detail.
Feel free to let me know what you think...

Its time for 2 things I love around my home again!

Ok, next on the agenda
(this is a morning full of real posts, I am catching up)
Its is time again for 2 things I love around my home!

First is this wicker elephant (courtesy of the trash) with my geranium on it.
I love plants, so I LOVE my geranium
and they are great medicine,
they can be used like bandages if you have a cut!

Next is something that Andy boy made for me.
He makes these incredible and tiny faery scenes,
he collects everything from nature and makes the little acorn houses by hand!
It is truely amazing!

This scene stands only about 4 inches from the base.
Here is a better picture:

And here is a close up of the house...

Isn't that amazing?!?
He adds little mushrooms and flowers and crystals,
he is truely talented!
It is funny, though, because he makes these teeny tiny, incredible creations
and then he also makes GIANT puppets!
(like the puppets at Bread and Puppet, if anyone knows about that)
Very talented man I've got!!!

What do you love around your house?
You can post about it and then link it on up over at Kassi's Blog.

A lovely Knick Knack surprise!

I was so very excited the other day to find a Lovely package in my post box!
"Oh, what could it be?" I thought.
Well, let me tell you,
it was marvelous!
everything a girl could want,
CHOCOLATE!
and a little note pad (which I love for all of my list writing),
pencils (another plus, I love art supplies!),
silly putty-so fun!
some wonderful Burt's Bees lip balm,
and a cute card!
Soooo wonderful!

So, I would like to say thank you to the lovely Caitlin over at Kitty Kitty Kitty Press
for my wonderful package of goodies!
YAY!
Thank You SO much, Caitlin, I looooove it all (and the chocolate was gone immediately)!

In Loving Memory of Gary

Good morning friends.
The past week has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster,
we had a beloved family friend pass away suddenly.
It was such a shock of sadness,
he was young (44 or 45 I believe),
and he passed quickly in his sleep from an enlarged heart.
His name was Gary (or the G-man as his friends called him)
He left behind a loving wife who was not with him at the time and came home to find him 2 days later.
So sad, we love you Nancy!
He was happy, active and loving and loved by all that knew him.
Yesterday was his service (I just couldn't be at the wake),
it was a lovely service, so many people who loved him
and who I haven't seen in a long time (including G-man).
So I wish him a safe passage into whatever realm he may travel to next,
and love to all his friends and family,
we will never forget you friend.
Love.

This is Veda on one of our wintery walks, she is too funny when she tilts her head in response to something I say...
In this picture, she knows I have cookies in my pocket,
smart puppy!

Today I am not feeling that great, so I have been taking it easy.
I took a was on the computer looking for new places to live,
took a nap
and got one nuno felting done.
But now my head is killing me and I have absolutely no energy,
so I think i will watch a movie...
Any suggestions?
Hope you are all having a wonderful (headache-free) weekend!

A peak at what I have been working on...

So along with making the hula hoops, I have been working on some Nuno Felted Wraps.
I have been trying to get my stock up for a gallery that wants some when they open back up in March...
I also want to have some to post in my Etsy Shop.
Luckily I had a store in Ipswich called Luna Tuna buy a whole bunch of hoops and felted wraps, so I have to get busy making some more!
So here are a couple of photos of what they are...
(I had a little bit of a fit the other day after taking the pictures because most of them came out horribly and don't give a good idea of what I make. Sigh... But luckily there are a small handful that came out nicely!)

Thanks for taking a look!
What have you all been up to?
...Love...

Book Wishlist

I love book, especially ones that have inspiring pictures, or useful information!
(I have pretty much a whole wall of herbal books for my reference!)
So I thought that I would post a selection from my amazon wish list,
maybe one day I will have them all!

First is this book...
I think that Posey would be very happy if I got it.
Parrot-Toys and Play Areas : How To Put Some Fun Into Your Parrot's Life

Next is this great foraging book, because one can never have enough identification books!
The Forager's Harvest: A Guide to Identifying, Harvesting, and Preparing Edible Wild Plants

I really want to have our own chickens!
I was just talking to a friend of mine who is Vegan (I am definitely not) about how where we live used to be all farms, but now it is so hard to find local eggs and meat...
And it is all super expensive if you do!
So this would be a great book to have, I think.
Keeping Chickens: The Essential Guide

I totally want this book! It looks soooooo neat!
Stylish Sheds and Elegant Hideaways: Big Ideas for Small Backyard Destinations

Another great book to have for reference!
Independence Days: A Guide to Sustainable Food Storage & Preservation

I think that we all need to learn how to slow our lives down a little bit, for better living and happiness!
In Praise of Slowness: Challenging the Cult of Speed (Plus)

This looks like a beautiful book!
Beautiful Sheep: Portraits of Champion Breeds

Another one Posey would be happy about!
The Healthy Bird Cookbook: A Lifesaving Nutritional Guide and Recipe Collection

I also want this book, maybe it will help me be a better painter!
I love watercolors, but they are so much harder that you think they might be!!!
Watercolour Textures (Collins Artist's Studio)

And those are some of the books I wish I could get right now!
There are plenty more that I would love to get, but these are the ones holding my interest at this moment!
What books are on your wish list?
Lovin' All
